Following their midweek defeat v Durham, Wakefield entertained high flying Lancaster, goalkeeper Danny Trueman was back after being away with work, but new signing's Declan Normaschild and Chris Hitchings were out through injury and Tom Marsden was still away on holiday.
The young Wakefield lads stuck to thier beliefs and tried to play football all over the pitch, but it was Lanacster who took the upper hand when after Alali had shepherded the ball out the ref allowed Lanacster to play on and their cross found Joe Bunney unmarked in the box to put Lancaster one nil up on 25 minutes. Shellshocked Bears were two down on 37 minutes when a deflected shot carried with the wind and spun onto Truemans left hand post and Meaney was first to react for Lancaster.
18 year old Liam Hudson and Micah Bleau did well in the centre of defence, captain Grant limped off with an injury, but despite holding Lancaster, the Bears couldnt muster any chances, Lancaster went close but Trueman tipped it past his left hand post.
The game ended 2-0 to Lancaster, with the Bears still looking for their first win in 10 games since the new management came.
